Why is it dangerous?
Caffeine overstimulates a cat's heart rhythm and nervous system. Cats rarely seek out coffee; the risk usually comes from licking a milky coffee cup, grounds left on the counter, or a spilled energy drink. In a small body the same amount has a bigger effect than in a dog.
What to do if your cat got into coffee
Note the amount and time, then call your veterinarian. If you see restlessness, fast breathing, tremors, or vomiting, go to the clinic without waiting.
