Can Cats Eat Bread?
Caution — a tiny piece of plain bread is harmless to cats but entirely pointless: an obligate carnivore gains nothing from bread. Raw yeast dough is dangerous for cats too.

What to know
If your cat is curious about bread, an occasional fingernail-sized plain piece is fine; regular bread, though, quickly becomes surplus calories in a small body and crowds out proper food. Buttered, garlic, olive-onion breads and raisin pastries are excluded by their ingredients.
Raw yeast dough rises in a cat's stomach and produces alcohol as well — and the effect is faster in a small body. A cat that jumps on the counter while dough is proofing is a real scenario; proof it covered and out of reach.
