What to know
Cats are generally indifferent to nuts, so cases are rare; but the tremorgenic toxins on mouldy walnuts would be expected to cause tremors and seizures in cats as well. Walnut fat brings vomiting, diarrhea, and pancreatitis risk in a small body, and a whole nut can choke or obstruct.
If your cat ate a walnut or swallowed shell fragments, call your veterinarian; tremors, unsteadiness, or seizures mean an emergency visit.
